Liora Kaplan, b. 1974, lives and works in Tel Aviv.
Kaplan’s work explores the relationship between contemporary pop culture, shamanist and primitivism, in a way that is both a linear path from past to present as well as a meditation of the cyclicality of time and materials. To achieve this, she uses symbols and objects collected throughout her life that, over time, become imbued with subjective meaning. By combining them together, she create new objects and symbolic codes that allow the viewer to transmit their own subjective interpretation into the piece.
